Agent Leaves a Legacy of Service to Arizona Actors

Agent Leaves a Legacy of Service to Arizona Actors

Bobby Ball was cast in her last role on March 22, 2009.

Born Roberta Helene Scott, Bobby was an amazing woman who led a colorful life and was never afraid to hit things head-on.

A talented lady, she began her show business career with the famed Tatterman Marionettes. Then she met and married Jack Ball, moved to Arizona with him, and immediately broke into the talent market; this time as an agent.

She opened the Bobby Ball Agency to represent actors. Local ad agencies knew they had met their match when she established the first ever minimum wage for talent. She created an acting school to train actors to professional level. It eventually became the Bobby Ball Academy, and included all ages from four on up, and trained in acting, stunts and modeling.

As the talent base grew, she understood that to become a viable professional market, Arizona needed the presence of the Screen Actors Guild. She almost single-handedly brought them to the state. Along the way, she created a powerful reputation for herself and for her talent.

During her career, Bobby worked with hundreds of productions, supplying talent or handling the casting. She represented myriads of gifted children and adults, and was friend, teacher and mentor to them all.

A memorial service at sea will be held aboard the "White Light" on Easter Sunday, April 12th. The boat will leave from Newport Beach, California at 11 AM and return at 1 p.m.

Bobby was preceded in death by her husband Jack and their son, David. She leaves behind three children – Patty, George and Lori, and a host of talented actors and models who all remember her with affection and gratitude. Break a leg, Bobby.
