Puerto Rico Guild Members: Important Information Regarding Casting for "Tales of Latin Lovers"

It has come to our attention that casting has been taking place in Puerto Rico for a 13 episode series entitled Tales of Latin Lovers, with production planned in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Los Angeles. Please be advised that the producers of this series have not been in contact with Screen Actors Guild about executing the applicable collective bargaining agreement and, therefore, we must assume that the producers of this program do not intend to execute an agreement with the Guild. Therefore, any Screen Actors Guild member who renders services on this production would be in violation of Rule 1 of the Guild's Constitution and By-Laws which states the following:

No member shall work as a performer or make an agreement to work as a performer for any producer who has not executed a basic minimum agreement with the Guild which is in full force and effect.

Violation of this Rule may result in disciplinary proceedings against the member which may result in a fine, suspension, or expulsion from Screen Actors Guild. Por este medio deseamos informarles que actualmente se esta llevando a cabo  “un casting” en Puerto Rico para un programa de trece capitulos llamado Tales of Latin Lovers, con producción también en Cuba y en Los Angeles.  Los productores de esta serie no se han comunicado con Screen Actors Guild para ejecutar el debido contrato, de acuerdo a esto, es de asumir que ellos no tienen intención de llegar ó firmar un acuerdo con SAG. Por lo tanto, cualquier miembro del sindicato SAG que participe en dicha producción esta en violación de la Regla UNO y de los estatutos de SAG que indican lo siguiente:

Ningún  miembro trabajará como artista ni se comprometerá a trabajar como artista para un  productor que no haya celebrado un acuerdo mínimo básico con el Sindicato, el cual debe estar en plena vigencia.  Esta disposición se aplica en todo el mundo.

Violación de esta Regla y su incumplimiento podría resultar en la aplicación de sanciones disciplinarias que abarcan desde multas hasta expulsión.
