Important Information Regarding The Tomas Agency

Screen Actors Guild Bulletin

To: All SAG Members who are currently represented, or previously been affiliated with, The Tomas Agency.

The Screen Actors Guild is writing to inform you that the Tomas Agency (“Tomas”) has decided to close its doors as of June 15, 2009 and, accordingly, SAG has accepted the surrender of its franchise, effective immediately.

The effect of the surrender is as follows:

• No member of the Screen Actors Guild may hereafter engage, use or deal through this agency.
• All contracts in force between this agency and the members of Screen Actors Guild are ipso facto and without further notice terminated except that the agency may retain and collect any commissions earned under said contracts prior to the surrender of franchise.
• Members shall not be under any obligation to pay commissions to the agent on any moneys earned by members after the termination of the agency contracts, even though such moneys are earned by members on employment contracts in existence at the date of termination of the agency contracts.

At this time, SAG is asking you to conduct a thorough investigation of your own files regarding any dealings that you may have had with Tomas. If you discover any irregularities in payments made to you by this agency, or if you have any outstanding questions regarding your agency relationship, please do not hesitate to contact either Linda Dowell, Regional Branch Executive Director, at (972) 361-8185, or Xochitl Cerda, Senior Manager of Agency Relations, National Office at (323) 549-6735.
