Join Screen Actors Guild LGBT Actors Committee at Two New York City Pride Marches, June 11 in Brooklyn and June 26 in Manhattan

Please join SAG members, staff, allies and members of the SAG National LGBT Actors Committee, as we gather in support of our LGBT brothers and sisters in the labor movement and our commitment to basic civil rights for all union members.

Please let us know if you’re planning to attend either Pride Parade by emailing us at: Diversity@sag.org and please put either ‘Brooklyn Pride’ or ‘Manhattan Pride’ in the subject line. 

Brooklyn Pride:

When: 7:30-9 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011
7–7:30 p.m., Meet and Assemble 
7:30 p.m.  Start
 
Where: We will assemble outside of The Gallery Players at 199 14th Street: 14th Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues (nearest Subway stop is the Prospect Par Station—see below for transportation and directions). Look for the Screen Actors Guild banner. Once we have all gathered, we will proceed to the march route a few blocks away.
 
The parade takes off from 14th Street and 5th Avenue at 7:30 p.m. and continues along on 5th Avenue Street to the Reviewing Stand at 4th Street and 5th Avenue.  The Parade continues on to Union Street.

F train to 15th Street/Prospect Park Station
B-69 bus along Prospect Park West
B-75 bus along 9th Street to 9th Street Entrance
B-68 bus along Coney Island Avenue/Prospect Park Southwest to Bartel Prichard Circle

By Car
From Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges:
Take Flatbush Avenue to Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park West exit to 15th Street.

From BQE:
Take BQE to 38th Street. Exit Make left on 4th Avenue, then right on 14th Street to Prospect Park West.

The Brooklyn Pride Committee seeks to create a new bridge, whereby local gay people, organizations, businesses, friends and supporters of equal human rights can come together in solidarity and celebration and bring visibility to the multicultural Brooklyn gay community.
