Learn how to shine like a star at your monologue audition  from Prudence Wright Holmes, "The Monologue Detective."

DISCOVER: New sources of great, little-known monologues, how to match your unique qualities to monologues that fit you like a glove and acting secrets to making your monologues stand out at auditions.

Attendees may bring their worked, memorized (approx. 2-minute) monologues for a chance to work; Prudence will be able to coach several people in the time available.

PRUDENCE WRIGHT HOLMES’ students appear in film, television, on and off-Broadway, regional theatre and commercials. She’s taught and led workshops at Carnegie Mellon, NYU, The Actor’s Studio, AADA, Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, The Neighborhood Playhouse, The Strasberg Institute, Actor’s Connection, and Weist Baron. She’s taught or been a guest speaker at AFTRA, Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity. She is the author of MONOLOGUE MASTERY and VOICES OF THINKING JEWISH WOMEN.  Prudence’s own auditions have won her featured roles in films: BOARDWALK EMPIRE; MY OWN LOVE SONG with Renee Zellweger; AFTER, LIFE with Liam Neeson; SISTER ACT I and II with Whoopi Goldberg; KINGPIN with Woody Harrelson and IN DREAMS with Annette Bening; and on Broadway in HAPPY END with Meryl Streep; LETTICE AND LOVAGE with Maggie Smith; and INHERIT THE WIND with George C. Scott.  She’s appeared in numerous Off-Broadway shows including original casts of GODSPELL and SISTER MARY IGNATIUS EXPLAINS IT ALL FOR YOU. She wrote and performed her solo show BEXLEY, ‘OH! at NY Theatre Workshop.  She recently appeared in The Light in the Piazza on Broadway and on the national tour.
