Search Signatory Database

Overview

SAG offers this searchable database to all performers both SAG members and non-members alike who'd like to find out if a production is signatory to a SAG contract. If you don't find the project you're looking for here, the production may still be pending the contract approval process or may be listed with SAG under another name. Please contact SAG if you have any questions.

Performers

Remember, Screen Actors Guild members must comply with Global Rule One, which states: No member shall work as a performer or make an agreement to work as a performer for any producer who has not executed a basic minimum agreement with the Guild which is in full force and effect. This provision is worldwide. Contact the SAG Contract Department for more information at (323)549-6828.

Distributors

The Screen Actors Guild Signatory Confirmation Database for Distributors is maintained to provide a resource for distributors and other buyers of rights in motion pictures. It contains SAG contract coverage information. THIS DATABASE IS NOT YOUR ONLY RESOURCE FOR INFORMATION ON SAG COVERAGE.

A SAG representative can answer questions about this database, how to use it, or what its results mean.

Notice

The Screen Actors Guild created this database for you to determine if a particular picture was produced subject to a SAG contract or if signatory status for that picture is pending. You will also generally learn which specific SAG contract applies, allowing you to determine the nature of the residuals and reporting obligations.

Please note that under Title 28 U.S.C. § 4001 "Assumption of Contractual Obligations Related to Transfers of Rights in Motion Pictures" (the "Assumption Statute"), distributors and other purchasers of rights will be responsible for Guild residuals and reporting as established in SAG's collective bargaining agreements covering pictures that are produced under a SAG contract.

IF A TITLE IS LISTED IN THIS DATABASE, THE DISTRIBUTOR OR BUYER WILL BE DEEMED TO HAVE CONSTRUCTIVE NOTICE THAT THE PICTURE WAS PRODUCED UNDER A SAG CONTRACT.

§(a)(2)(B) of the Federal Assumption Statute establishes that licensees will be deemed to have constructive and timely knowledge that a motion picture was or is being produced subject to a SAG collective bargaining agreement where SAG makes such information available through this web site. Under these circumstances, the applicable license agreements "shall be deemed to incorporate the assumption agreements applicable to the copyright ownership being transferred that are required by the applicable collective bargaining agreement, and the transferee shall be subject to the collective bargaining obligations under each such assumption agreement to make residuals payments and provide related notices, accruing after the effective date of the transfer and applicable to the exploitation of the rights transferred."

Although SAG seeks to post as complete a list of covered pictures as possible, many motion pictures, particularly those produced prior to 1982, may not yet be included in this database. Please note that you may also be deemed to have notice of Guild coverage through the existence of SAG filings with the U.S. Copyright Office. You may also have the obligation to report and pay residuals if you are aware of facts and circumstances leading to the conclusion that a picture is covered by a SAG contract.

Please review the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (H.R.2281) full text or Section 406. These documents are in Adobe PDF format.

Please visit our sister guilds' signatory database web sites to learn about productions covered by their agreements with producers.

* SAG contract year is a required field. The database will search for productions both three years before and three years after the specified date.

No special characters or punctuation (i.e. #, &, period, comma) can be entered in any of the above search fields.
