In 1979 Garrett Williams was born in the small suburban town of Agoura Hills, California. With a mom as a personal hair dresser to Jack Nicholson among some of the other biggest actors in Hollywood and a father as a stuntman throughout three decades in Hollywood, he was raised no stranger to the industry. As a child Garrett chose athletics and with a strong competition excelled in sports such as baseball, basketball, football and especially soccer. His instinctive competitiveness grew a rebellious nature in him which left him no stranger to fights and a distrust of authority as a youth.
Graduating high school Garrett played soccer and traveled all over Europe and in minor leagues pursuing his life long dream as a professional soccer player. After a serious ankle injury he was forced to take a break and traveled back to the states. It was at home recuperating that he received a phone call from a good friend, asking if he would be interested in going on an open call for a Drew Barrymore film. After much hesitation and arguing, he stood in a line of over two hundred people and after just five minutes a casting director spotted him and pulled him out of line. After a week Garrett fell in love with the feeling of being on a studio set and the atmosphere of production and decided to throw all his efforts into becoming a full time actor. A natural workaholic, Garrett assumed the role of his own agent and squeezed his way into casting room after casting room and landed his first feature in Drew Barrymore's "Never Been Kissed". He stayed busy with parts in a number of music videos and was a recurring character in shows such as, "Spy-TV", "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment", and "Who Knows The Band". His hard work soon landed him under the eye of independent director David Dietrich and in 2007 was cast as the lead in the Suspenseful thriller, "Divine Unrest". Garrett's strong portrayal as Fin Griffin, captured a man struggling guilt and pain in a battle with addiction and love. A performance which got him highly noticed and has made himself a name as an actor with confidence and a unique individuality that shows a conviction for his craft rather than a hallow drive for fortune and fame. Garrett has always said it's not the fame or fortune he seeks, just to be successful at whatever he does whether it be acting or a rock throwing competition! With a full schedule ahead of him and the lead slots in 4 up-coming features, Garrett Williams is just starting to prove that he has the grit & the sand of what it takes to become what seems to be a dying breed, a real and honest actor. Garrett's hard work and dedication has made him a very good name among everyone he's worked with, as well as being referred to as "A directors actor" he does not settle and will not stop until a scene's its right which is rare. One thing seems for certain, The world will be seeing much more of Garrett Williams. Written By, Nicholas Corney. |
