It all started with a Giant Sweet Tart candy and a hairbrush.
At age 7, I decided that both of these things were CLEARLY microphones. I scampered through my tropical (and very humid) abode in South Florida, chatting into mirrors in gibberish--which, I somehow knew was REALLY Spanish. I always created the same "role": a Latina News Broadcaster! (which is especially hilarious since, at least in THIS life, I am a Gringita!) Soon after, I bribed my baby brother to voice radio dramas with me, armed with a massive cassette recorder and the Haunted Mansion SFX record. On breaks from recording sessions, I wrote/illustrated short stories--like "The Million Dollar Candy Bar"--which I asked to have laminated and placed in my elementary school's library. The evidence leans heavily toward the idea that I came onto the planet predisposed to be an actress/writer.
