Actor Bio

Ren Hanami started singing and dancing as a child. Like other youngsters from Orange County she danced in parades at Disneyland. She began her professional acting career while attending U.C.L.A. as a Vocal Performance Major in the Music Department. Her first professional job was singing and dancing in an Equity Dinner Theater production of FLOWER DRUM SONG. After changing majors and graduating from U.C.L.A. with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theater, she went on to co-star in many television shows with stars like Tyne Daly, Ed Asner, Carl Weathers, Molly Ringwald, Sandy Duncan, Martin Landau and Lee Grant. In 1997 she appeared with Glenn Close in AIRFORCE ONE starring Harrison Ford. In 2006-2007 she had the honor of working with Sally Field in a recurring role on the award winning television show "ER." Recently Ren garnered rave reviews as Lady Thiang in THE KING AND I at Sierra Repertory.
Other credits include "The Young and The Restless" for CBS; "General Hospital" for ABC with Stuart Damon; SOUTH PACIFIC at The Hollywood Bowl starring Reba McIntire and Brian Stokes Mitchell and directed by David Lee; McCoy Rigby's MY FAIR LADY at La Mirada Theatre which garnered two Ovation Awards. She was the computer like voice of the promotions of "The Amazing Race" on CBS and is heard daily by thousands of people as the Doctor in Disney World's INNERVISION attraction at EPCOT Center. Ren's voice was also featured on "General Hospital" as Kim Chan, the wedding planner extraordinaire and as the translator in the Latin Sphere Hispanic Ethnography project for Disney.
