Sharon Washington has appeared in numerous Off-Broadway productions and has had the privilege of working with some of the country's most prestigious theater artists including appearances in the world premiere of Kander & Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys directed by Susan Stroman and Alan Ayckbourn's House and Garden directed by John Tillinger, The Radical Mystique written and directed by Arthur Laurents and Seeking the Genesis and Joined at the Head at the Manhattan Theatre Club.
At the New York Shakespeare Festival/Public Theater she played Lady Anne to Denzel Washington's Richard III, Valeria to Christopher Walken's Coriolanus and Cymbeline with Joan Cusak. She was also in an award- winning adaptation of Caucasian Chalk Circle directed by George C. Wolfe and the critically-acclaimed production of Stuff Happens directed by Daniel Sullivan.
She was nominated for an Audelco award for her performance in Fear Itself directed by Joe Morton.
Regionally she has appeared in King Lear and The Merry Wives of Windsor (Denver Center), Intimate Apparel (Guthrie Theater), String of Pearls (City Theatre), Jar The Floor (Seattle Rep), Diggin' Eleven (Hartford Stage), The Story and Ceremonies In Dark Old Men (Long Wharf Theatre), Man and Superman (Center Stage), Miss Evers' Boys (Philadelphia Theatre Company), Twelfth Night (Arena Stage) and The Piano Lesson and The Winter's Tale (Yale Rep). She has also spent several wonderful summers working on new plays at the Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference.
Film and television appearances include: Damages,Taking Chance, 3 LBS, Michael Clayton, Freedomland, The School of Rock, Half Nelson, 3AM, Waking the Dead, Lisa Picard Is Famous, The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Confession, Malcolm X, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Enslavement: The Fanny Kemble Story, the miniseries North and South III, Law & Order, Law & Order:SVU, and Cosby.
