      Actress . Entrepreneur
My name is Sherlinda Dix. I am an actress and entrepreneur who appreciates the art of performing, owning businesses, and upholding extraordinary ideas. At an early age, I became interested in acting, set designing and costumes. I was cast in all available school productions during my elementary and high school years. Later, I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and the Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York City. While working at Playhouse on the Mall in New Jersey, I attended Adelphi University in New York and graduated Magna cum Laude/Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Performing Arts. My career began with performances throughout Manhattan, and Production Coordinating for a company in SoHo. I became a member of New York Women in Films.
After locating to the District of Columbia and performing with San Quentin Players, I accepted a call to manage a touring production of "The Wizard of OZ" for Family Theatre Group throughout the southeast. At the end of the tour, I moved to Hollywood, California and worked as a Production Coordinator for Black and White Television while auditioning as an Actress. I became a member of Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and Actors Equity Association. As an Actress, I performed voice-overs, was cast in industrials, commercials, radio spots, and television shows. I was a featured player on shows such as "Working", "Ellen", and "ER". I received a nomination by NAACP for Best Actress for my performance in "The Chest" for the role of Aunt Mavis. At a pageant in Beverly Hills, I was crowned Miss African Times and appointed Ambassador to Africa. In Africa, I was assigned a tour guide, and liaison that coordinated dinner invitations, press conferences, and guest appearances on Senegal's widespread talk show. We toured other villages to meet officials in Mali, Sierra Leone, and Goree Island. When I returned to the East Coast, I was cast in "Porgy and Bess", a production of Washington National Opera Company at the Kennedy Center.
It was in 1987 that I developed a profound recognition that essential oils, botanical products, and herbal remedies could enhance the quality of life, and relieve stress; hence Botanical Balance, LLC. My company, Botanical Balance, LLC was featured in "CODE" magazine and was presented at events in Los Angeles and San Diego where it was patronized by celebrity clientele. I restructured and expanded my businesses. Now, I am officially reopening Botanical Balance, LLC, Beri Productions, LLC; launching Fish Entertainment Networks, LLC, Flower Enterprise International, LLC, and soon to launch Vision Vending, LLC while celebrating 509 Beadery, LLC, my only partnership venture, with my sister.
