New media producers can access the world’s most talented professional performers for their projects when they become signatory to the SAG New Media Agreement. But becoming signatory does require completing a small amount of paperwork. We understand that dealing with paperwork isn’t as much fun as shooting your project, so to ease this burden, we’ve created this simple guide to completing the signatory process.
Pre-Production: We recommend that at least two weeks prior to your first day of shooting, you complete and submit the following documents via email:
1. Preliminary Information Sheet for New Media Production
2. Pre-Production Cast List
3. Script / Treatment;
4. Budget (top sheet summary will suffice); and
5. We also need to know who is employing the actors. If you’re an:
a. Individual – We will need a copy of your I.D., and your Fictitious Business Name Statement (if applicable).
b. Corporation – We will need your Articles of Incorporation and completed Corporation Resolution.
c. Limited Liability Company (LLC) – We will need your Articles of Organization, LLC Operating Agreement, and completed LLC Resolution.
d. Partnership or Joint Venture – We will need your Fictitious Business Name Statement (if applicable) and Partnership Agreement (if applicable).
6. A SAG Business Representative should contact you within a few days to review your documents and explain the next steps to becoming a SAG Producer. The Business Representative will let you know if your production qualifies for the SAG New Media Agreement. If the production qualifies, you will need to complete and submit the following documents with original signatures:
a. Screen Actors Guild New Media Agreement; and
b. SAG Pension and Health Adherence Letter.
Once all the applicable documents in 1-6 above have been received, your Business Representative will contact you to let you know that you are clear to begin work with your SAG cast.
Production: During production, complete and submit the following to your Business Representative:
1. SAG Performer Contracts;
2. Production Time Reports (Exhibit G’s); and
3. If you are hiring a non-SAG member, you should submit a Principal Performer Taft-Hartley Report and/or a Background Actor Taft-Hartley Report.
Post-Production: After production, complete and submit the Final Cast List to your Business Representative.
