The producer of the basic cable television series Forensic Files, which airs on Court TV, is not yet signed to an agreement with Screen Actors Guild covering the terms and conditions for performers and background actors employed on the series.

Guild members are reminded of their obligation not to accept employment on any non-signatory project, as well as their obligation to confirm with the Guild that a project is signatory. Employment on any non-signatory project within the Guild's jurisdiction may subject a member to a Rule One violation.

Los Angeles (September 21, 2006)
–Screen Actors Guild (SAG) today announced election results for the Guild’s national board of directors. Twenty-four of the 69 national board seats were contested in this election, representing Screen Actors Guild’s Hollywood, New York and Regional Branch Divisions.

The newly elected national board members will assume office on September 25 for terms of varying lengths. The next national board meeting is October 21-22 in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles (September 20, 2006) -- Screen Actors Guild today announced the promotions of Laura Beedy Ritchie and William Bensussen to deputy general counsel. Bensussen will focus on the Guild's collective bargaining and contract enforcement initiatives, while Ritchie will focus on issues of legal strategy and policy. Both attorneys previously served as assistant general counsel for the Guild and, along with New York-based Deputy General Counsel Ray Rodriguez, will continue to report directly to General Counsel Duncan Crabtree-Ireland. Online dues payment will be disabled while new SAG billing statements are being prepared and mailed. Once billing has been completed, the online dues payment feature will again be available. This step will ensure that member payments are recorded accurately.

During this period, payment will be accepted by mail and via drop boxes at certain Guild locations.

Starting May 11, 2006, Screen Actors Guild residuals mailings will have a new look. Separate sheets of paper in a basic white envelope will replace the previous design, which contained a check inside a printed yellow sleeve. The new statements will contain all of the same useful information that was found in the previous format, and will be accompanied by your residuals check. This format change is intended to be more user-friendly for members, as well as cost-effective for the Guild.

Los Angeles (May 3, 2006) – Screen Actors Guild executive and former member Tom La Grua has been named interim deputy national executive director for contracts, it was announced today by the Guild. A four-year Guild executive, La Grua will administrate the Contracts Department nationwide while the Guild conducts a search for a permanent replacement for Sallie Weaver, the 20-year executive who vacated the position on May 1.

In the interest of transparency, the Hollywood Division board will open its March 27 meeting to members-at-large for observation. Guild archives indicate that is a landmark event. All members who would like to attend must be in good standing, affiliated with the Guild's Hollywood Division and willing to comply with observation procedures. LOS ANGELES (February 8, 2006) – Actors and storytellers staged a demonstration on Wednesday protesting their exclusion from an entertainment industry debate on product integration in TV and film. The protest follows an earlier call by the Writers Guild of America, west (WGAw), Writers Guild of America, East (WGAe), and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) for the industry to adopt a “Code of Conduct” to govern the use and disclosure of such advertising.
