THE NEW DGA SUNSET-LOFTS PARKING LOT, located at 7950 Sunset Blvd. is situated directly across the street from the existing DGA parking structure entrance at Hayworth and Sunset. This new parking structure will be used in addition to the existing DGA underground parking lot. The lot contains 140 parking spaces including Disabled Person parking. Members should no longer park at 8000 Sunset Blvd (formerly known as the Virgin Megastore parking lot) as the DGA will no longer be providing validations.
Please email the Film Society office at filmsociety@sag.org or call us at 323-549-6658 if you have any questions about the new parking lot.
EXTRA GUEST PASS reminder: For most films Film Society members may purchase up to two extra guest passes for $7.50 per extra guest pass from the SAG Cashiers window beginning Monday, May 18th. The Cashiers Window is located in the Membership Office at 5757 Wilshire Blvd. (on the first floor), Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays. Passes may be purchased with cash, checks, or money orders. Note: Extra guest passes are very limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Extra guest passes may also be restricted at certain screening times. Please check back with the Film Society website, emails, and the 24-hour hotline for updates.
BONUS SCREENINGS: Please be advised BONUS SCREENINGS and LIMITED-SEATING OPPORTUNITY BONUS SCREENINGS are free (extra) screenings. Seating is not guaranteed at the bonus screenings even if your name is on a reservation list. For any type of bonus screenings Film Society members are always advised to arrive early to give themselves the best chance possible to obtain a seat at a bonus screening. (Any screening taking place offsite from the DGA would automatically be a bonus screening.)
2010 SCREENING DATES: Please mark your calendar for the upcoming 2010 Screening Dates at the DGA: January 3/4 , January 8/9, January 15/16, February 5/6, February 19/20, March 5/6, March 19/20, and April 2/3 2010. (Note: the screenings scheduled for Jan. 3 & 4 fall on a Sunday/Monday.)
Attention Film Society Members:
Please remember that Rule #1 states that “Food, beverages, candy or gum are not permitted in the theater.” Anyone attempting to enter the theater with these prohibited items will not be admitted to the screening.
At the first screening weekend, some members attempted to enter the theater with gum, hard candy, chocolate bars, sandwiches, yogurt, trail mix, cookies, applesauce, and various candy bars, as well as coffee, soda and energy drinks. (This is just a partial list of food and beverage items.)
Members must be in compliance with Rule #1 for all screenings. Thank you for your cooperation.
Also, please remember: Once the houselights dim, conversations must end and pagers, cell phones, and all electronic devices must be turned off completely until the movie is finished. Also please be advised that messaging and texting during screenings will not be tolerated. …We also ask everyone to remain seated until after the final credits roll and the house lights.
